What Is Property Information?

With this service you can locate information and access interactive maps of real estate properties in Miami-Dade County. The information comes from the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser's office.

Certain sworn personnel may wish to block public access of their property information. For details on who qualifies and how to apply, please visit the Property Appraiser's Block Public Access Page.

Quick Start Instructions

1. Make a selection from the Show Me dropdown box on the left of this screen.
2. From the Search By dropdown box select Address, Owner or Folio to
locate an area or property.
3. If more than one property was found, click on the Folio Number to view the property information and map.
4. Use the map tools on the toolbar to zoom, pan or print a detail report.
5. From the Show Me dropdown box select a different My Home service.

How Do I Search Property Information?

1. From the Search By dropdown box, select the type of search you would like to perform. You can locate a specific property by entering the address, owner's name or the folio number.
2. If more than one property record matched your search criteria, a list of possible matches will be displayed. Click on one of the folio numbers to get detailed information about that property.
3. A map will be displayed with the requested property outlined with a bold red line. The Summary Details report gives more information about the requested property.
Address

Click in the Street Number box and enter the house number. Then one by one, press the "Tab" key or click in the Direction, Street Name and Street Type boxes and enter the address.

The Unit Number and Zip Code are optional, but will help locate condominiums and addresses that could be located in more than one city.

Click the "Locate" button to display the map and detailed information for the property requested.

Owner

You can enter the Owner's Last and First Names. You can also enter the Owner's Last Name and First Initial or the Owner's Last Name only.

Click in the Last Name box and enter the Owner's Last Name.

Press the "Tab" key or click in the First Name box and enter the Owner's First Name.

Click the "Locate" button to display the map and detailed information for the property requested.

Folio

Click in the Folio box and enter the 13 digit property Folio Number. Do not include the dashes.

Click the "Locate" button to display the map and detailed information for the property requested.

What is the Legend?

The Legend explains the symbols and colors shown on the map.

Property
Boundary
Identifies the boundary of each property.
 
Selected
Property
Identifies the property requested.
 
Street Identifies the local street center lines in the displayed area.
 
Highway Identifies the highways in the displayed area.
 
Miami-Dade
County
Identifies the area of Miami-Dade County.
 
Water Identifies the bodies of water in the displayed area.

How Do I Use the Toolbar?

We have provided Tools to help you navigate the Property Information maps. Use your mouse to select the tool you wish to use from the toolbar. The tool you select will appear as the Active Tool. See the list below for more details on how to use each tool.

  Active Tool Identifies which tool is currently being used.
 
Zoom Last Reverts back to display the last selected property.
 
Zoom In Click to recenter or click and drag the mouse to draw a box to zoom in.
 
Zoom Out Click to recenter or click and drag the mouse to draw a box to zoom out one level at a time.
 
Zoom Out to
Full Extent
Reverts back to display initial county map.
 
Select Click on a property to get property information.
 
Pan Pan the map display in any direction by dragging it.
 
Photography On/Off Toggle the Aerial Photography On and Off. The default is Photography On.
 
Print Opens a popup window displaying the current map and report (if available). Then it can be printed or saved using your browser's menu File - Print command.
 
Help Opens a window with help topics.

Search Results

The Summary Details report provides information about the requested property.

Folio No.

A unique, thirteen digit number assigned by the Property Appraiser to identify each property.

Property

The street address of the property. Vacant land usually does not have an address.

Mailing Address

The mailing address of the owner of record.

Primary Zone

The zoning designation that covers the majority of the property.

CLUC

County Land Use Code

Beds/Baths

The number of bedrooms, or rooms capable of being used as bedrooms, of the primary improvement, and the number of bathrooms of the primary improvement.

Floors

The number of floors of the primary improvement.

Living Units

The number of self-sustainable living units within the parcel.

Adj Square Footage

The area of the improvement adjusted for various factors such as structure, finish and number of floors.

Lot Size

The area of the parcel in square feet or acres.

Year Built

The year the primary improvement was constructed.

Legal Description

A description of the property identifying its location and boundaries.

Sale O/R

The official record number assigned by the Clerk of the Courts Recorder's Office for the document indicating the owner of record.

Sale Date

The month and year of sale as indicated on the document.

Sale Amount

The consideration for a transfer of real property as evidenced by the documentary stamps paid on a recorded deed.

Year

The current year's and prior year's information are shown.

Land Value

The portion of the value attributed to the land only.

Building Value

The portion of the value attributed to the improvements of the property.

Market Value

The most probable price in cash, terms equivalent to cash, or other precisely revealed terms, for which the appraised property will sell in a competitive market under all conditions requisite to fair sale.

Assessed Value

An annual determination of the just or fair market value of an item or property or the value of the homestead property as limited pursuant to s. 4(c), Art. VII of the State Constitution or, if a property is assessed solely on the basis of character or use or at a specified percentage of its value, pursuant to s. 4(a) or (b), Art. VII of the State Constitution, its classified use value or fractional value.

Homestead Exemption

Every U.S. citizen or legal resident that has the legal or equitable title to real property in the State of Florida and who resides thereon and in good faith makes it their permanent home as of January 1st, is entitled to this exemption. Widow Exemption

Any widow or widower who is a permanent Florida resident may claim this exemption. See more details in the Property Appraiser's Widow's Exemption Page.

Total Exemptions

The combined value of all exemptions, applied for and granted, on a property.

Taxable Value

The assessed value of the property minus the amount of any applicable exemptions provided under s.3 or s.6, Art. VII of the State Constitution and chapter 196.
